Like all products we consume, coffee also has an expiration date. It is good when we buy it, to place it in an airtight container to keep its aromas perfectly. Do not put it in the fridge, but in a shady and cool place and of course avoid moisture and light.

We need to stir continuously and when we see the coffee start to bubble, we should stop stirring. Finally, pour the coffee into the cup from a close distance.

The first and most important principle for a good espresso is choosing a high quality coffee. Fresh coffee, immediately after being ground, should be placed in the espresso filter (portafilter). The grind should be in powder form, similar to sugar

The correct dosage is usually around 9 grams of coffee for a single espresso with extraction at 25-30ml.

Start by preparing a strong and concentrated espresso. Americano is served in a tall glass or mug. Then hot water is added and that is why it is called long black because the volume of the coffee increases with the addition of water. It is called black because it is also served without milk. If you want more coffee, then we can put a double dose of espresso to maintain the ratio of water to coffee. However, this coffee should not be confused with the double espresso.

For preparing espresso lungo we follow the same procedure as espresso, with the only difference being that the extraction is done at 40ml and then we fill the glass with hot water (92-95 degrees) until our drink reaches 80ml. Be careful not to do more extraction because we will have more acidity in our drink, something that will not be desired. Served in an espresso cup.

  • We make two doses of espresso
  • Add sugar if desired and mix lightly
  • Pour the coffee into a metal container (shaker glass with strainer) with ice cubes and stir so that the coffee freezes immediately.
